THE EVENT IN PHOTOS

Visitors were greeted by Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew on The Ship Of Fools. Noisy Nell engages the audience who help to get the ship afloat and on its way. The wonder of the River Walk - glowing paintings, foliage and the fabulous Celtic Wall. Giant screens provide panoramic views as you cross the animated stepping stones. You’re met by the Crow of Winter, here being photographed with Sylvia Heal, Member of Parliament for Halesowen, who visited the event. Inside the Hawkstone Experience you meet the spirits of Nature, here is The Green Man, Autumn and Winter accepting an acorn as an offering from a human. Winter, Spring and Autumn argue about who owns Christmas. Global cooling in their domain is the result of global warming in ours. Musicians accompany the performance and dance videos play on the screens. Spring takes the offering to the standing stone. A ritual dance opens the portal to the Troll’s Cavern. You are asked to return some copper to their land then do a number of tasks to get into the Symphonic Caves. In the Red Hot Cave you have to name the symbols painted on the walls to please the Trolls. WAITING FOR PHOTO WAITING FOR PHOTO The Cold Wet Cave is the Winter Crows favourite place but it is full of human rubbish. The nature fairy helps you pick up all the litter so you can carry on, but only when you've all combined to play the tuning forks in unison. After passing the waterfall you enter the Warm Scented Cave which you are led to believe is the belly of a dragon. You have to answer a riddle to move up and out of the mouth. The Rainbow Bridge leads into the Chromatic Fields with huge video projections all around you. But in the foreground is the Sonic Sculpture - a 4 metre high tree like structure. A group of musicians plays the Sonic Sculpture as an accompaniment to the projected images. PLAY VIDEO 2.5Mb The Sonic Sculpture is surrounded by smaller sculptural pieces that reflect themes and topics from the event. Now you move to an area for reflections and personal statements- - the Flight of Fancy. Here you get to try out the costumes and masks we used in the event. Then use the Blue Screen technology to take the magic carpet to your chosen destination. Brian goes to Egypt ... ... others visited Greece. Wave to the people on the Moon.
