DAY REPORTS

We will provide a daily progress report on this page. This will act as the primary documentation for the project.

Day 1 Report - 11th October.

Almost all the main team were on site for the initial briefing and generally tidying of the space before construction began. By lunchtime we had the preparation workshop areas delineated and equipped and had made a good start on the River Walk structure. The large mural at the back of the Hawkstone Experience was well advanced by tea time and the decking from the start up to the Troll's Cavern had been completed.

We were all very satisfied with this first day on site and there was a great sense of being a part of an exciting venture. A solid start to the week.

New crew members who started with us today are Paul, who will play the main Troll during the events as well as being a good all-round maker and events organiser, and Mike who is a tutor part-time at The Glasshouse College. Mike brings invaluable Stagecraft skills.

Work also begins on the digital media that will be used throughout the event.

Day 3 Report - 13th October.

We made a start on other aspects of the installation and assigned the students to different artists. David Howarth got off to a really strong start on the Sonic Sculpture. This involves cutting and welding steel sheets and rods. The more dangerous work takes place off site.

Bridge of Time worked with the Drama students at Halesowen College.

Day 8 Report - 20th October.

The space is turned into discrete zones, here the bridge leads from the Symphonic Caves to the Chromatic Fields and the Sonic Sculpture.
The rest of the day is devoted to getting everything in place and rehearsed ready for the evening Premiere.

The Premier starts a little later than planned so we can be sure all the preparations have been made and everyone is in place. The first ten visitors are taken into the event and a further 3 performances follow.

It's a great success.
